To start with lets add the rest of the DEEP project. basically I inbetweened all of the animation, fixed the colouring with every shot after Laura had given them back, and did the final edit. All is bellow:

Hey, Its been a while, well lets get right into it shall we? yes I think so!
Lets start with the 3rd year project Ive been helping with, I chose to help Josh with my pet rock, and the work I was given was to do the animation for one shot and to colour 8 shots here is what I have done:

Another project I have been working on is the 'DEEP' project which is a film our lecturers have planed, but without going into detail about the story, here is what I have done for the project:
1. I was working on the 'Hotel' scene which we were supposed to recreate some bottles and a table and have the bottles shatter as bullets came through the door, my jobs were to make the clean plate for the table and bottles to go (as they didn't get one on the day of filming....) and the to composite all the animation with the live action footage, but the animation isn't done yet so all I have done is the clean plate, here is a before and after:

2. The second scene I moved onto once this scene was taking to long and I needed to do some more on the project was the '101 dalmatians' scene, in this scene I am the there inbetweener of the animation and I have to clean up some colouring and lines after we got the clean up back also I made a rough animation for one shot but it wasn't used because I went straight off the animatic and we went for somting a little different in the end. I am still working on this one at the moment but here is what I have done:

The last project I am working on is a project with the fashion photography students, to begin with I was working with one student, and we went through what she had filmed while she was in Japan and thought how to link the shots, that she wanted some animation to the footage and what colour correction she wanted, but she ended up leaving working with me and went to Solomon else... So I had to find someone else to work with, and I found a student who wanted to do a video where people had an outfit under another film her taking off one to reveal the other and reverse it so it looked like she put on the one above. She also wanted some animated creatures dancing around which I have animated. Here is what I've done so far:

Also she didn't film with a big back drop so I've had to extend it, there were some problems though, I couldn't roto around the flying out cloths because of the frame rate the footage was filmed on made the cloths go partially invisible due to motion blur, but she said to me don't worry about going around the flying cloths or anything, she didn't mind that things would just disappear. But I thought I should have at least tried.
Hey, So the first semester of my second year has finished and I thought I should really do an update on here with all the things I finished and the stuff I have been doing in my spare time.
Firstly here is the interaction with the environment task we were set on the VFX module:

And that is all the VFX tasks we got given this semester. We were told to give in a show reel of our VFX work for marking and here is the reel I put together:

This was set about 2 weeks before the Christmas break and was supposed to be done sometime in January after we got back, but I finished it before I left for Christmas because I worked pretty much non-stop till it was done so I didn't have it looming over while I was away.

Now onto my own work, I have done 2 videos during the time of my last post I am quite proud of them, but I will be doing better ones soon I have a draft script for one and the other 2 I am working on, anyway take a look:

Hey, I've only got a couple more things to post today all of which are VFX stuff so yeahh, lets get started! Firstly I have finished turning my penguins belly blue, I call him ICE PENGUIN!!

Also in one of our lectures we were compositing a scene from maya and some fire together linking reflections, shadows, refractions, I also added some sound effects myself, here's how it turned out:

We also got another project which I have nearly finished but not done yet so no sneak peaks for you. Basically we had to film something in real life then composite some 3D text into the scene by tracking the terrain which where I filmed my mine made it well a knob but we got it to work in the end. Anyway while I was filming it I thought I might as well do something while I have the camera, sorry about the shaky camera I had to get a friend to film it as I was in one of the costumes and we had to use a P2 camera which a little heavy and the ground was uneven, so yeah here's the video:
Hey guys, hows it going? good? that's cool.... Anyway we finished the funny in 15 project and I am quite proud of what we got done. Here is the final film:
Also I was given a task to do VFX where we had to rotoscope a penguins belly to a different colour in Nuke, I haven't completed it yet but I will have it done by the next blog defiantly.

Huzzah! I'm back, well I've been back for a few weeks now to be honest and this is the first blog I am posting so yeah....... well so far we have been given one project and I've done one thing in lesson alongside a tutor, and I've also done some life drawing, have a look: Firstly the project we were given and how we've got on so far. To start with we were put in groups of three that were randomly picked out of a hat and we had to come up with a 15 second short idea, these are the three we came up with: 1. Corridor Two guys walking towards each other down a corridor and the stop and stumble over each other deciding which way to go, they then take a couple of steps and break into the dirty dancing dance move, the music cuts out half way through and the guy stops, drops the person on the floor and walks on.
2. Elevator Starts with a pretty tarty girl standing in the elevator, then a scruffy guy walks in beside her, there's an awkward pause and silence with weird looks at each other, the guy scratching his bum maybe. then sudinly the lights flicker and go off. when the lights come back on they are wearing each others cloths and the guy walks out with a gay prance.
3. Toilets Two guys in the toilets, basically a shit off between the two or just load noises coming from one. a guy walks in and has a wee in the urinal and gets knocked out by the smell, noises stop and it all calms down the when he comes out of the toilet it turn out to be a woman. We ended up going with number one because we thought it was the best suited for what we had to do and here is the first animatic for it:

We showed this to the class and tutors and they had a few good ideas and inputs into the idea, so we went back made a few changes and came up with this:

Then once Rhys had done the backgrounds and we showed the class again we put together a final animatic with a few neatened up timings and added backgrounds:

The second thing I have done was in Nuke where we had to composite a character animation, 3 images (foreground, background and the sky), the characters shadow and we animated a shadow in the software to. Here is the final shot:

p.s. The work I posted for the group project makes it look like I've done everything, I only posted what parts I have done unless I said otherwise and the other people on the team have been doing characters and other pieces of work.
Wow, its the end of the year.... I've been at university for a year.... really doesn't seem that long.
But hey ho, lets get into the final update of the academic year!
The first thing I'm going to post is the 2D version of that image I turned into 3D, but with a character and a different camera move:

I love that short little camera move it looks so cool haha. Next on the list of the uploadings is another 3D thing we had to do, which was to find something in the real world take pictures of it, then model, texture and paint it to make it look like the real thing, here's mine:

That up there took aaaggeeessss to do, but was well worth it! Now a break from the moving stuff and onto my final 3 backgrounds for the background project:

A cove with a town and a cliff, yeahh all the white is where the water/ship would be animated so for backgrounds you have to leave those parts white.

Aaaannnndddd, finally but most certainly not least, probably most really, we didn't get all the animation done which made me a little disappointed but that was probably due to us being one man down and choosing to do frame by frame animation, which takes a loooonnnngggg time to do. But any ways enough blabbering on, here is how far we got with out Sea Tales project:
